We have yellow flags, and now a red flag, for a Manor Marussia beached in the gravel on the outside of Turn 11. It's Roberto Merhi.
That also appears to have jeopardised a qualifying simulation from Vettel, who was not far behind.
Seeing an on board it seems Merhi locked his rear breaks and then he just spun into the gravel.
Merhi: "I think I spin in the corner ten."
Manor: "OK we can see that, switch off the engine."
Doesn't appear there is any damage to Merhi's car.
Ouch. Seems Merhi gave his head a smack on the crane as he stepped out of the car there.
So it's al quiet out there as the crane removes Merhi's car. Red flags still out.
Merhi is currently 0.072s inside the 107% time.
Session will resume in two minutes.
The flags are green and Hamilton is one of the first out on track.
Vettel has bolted on the medium option tyre and will now re-attempt that qualifying run. We'll see those quali runs coming thick and fast now.
Vettel spins on his second qualifying simulation and flat spots his front left tyre pretty seriously. He stays on the track and gets going again. He spun at roughly the same place as Merhi but didn't reach the gravel.
@AntonyMakanza: You put the mockers on him ;)
Massa wobbles coming through the final sector but rises to third on his qualifying simulation. Bottas is a tenth ahead from his own. They still can't topple Rosberg's hard tyre benchmark.
Seems Vettel wants to go and do a long race run on the hard compound tyre. That is likely to be a split strategy in this session, as Raikkonen is likely to do a long run on the medium tyre.
Hamilton locks up coming through Turn 9.
Raikkonen has jumped into P1 with his own qualifying simulation, posting a 1:40.163.
@AntonyMakanza: That's right. He'll have to nick some of the data from Raikkonen's run.
Hamilton, who still has the hard compound tyre on, goes sixth.
Hamilton told to box again as Mercedes still struggles with his telemetry.
Rosberg's first lap can't topple Raikkonen, it's 0.05s off the Ferrari's benchmark.
Perez runs wide at Turn 14 as he did this morning.
In fact, Mercedes has lost Hamilton's telemetry completely.
Button complains about "massive understeer" in the slower corners. Adds: "We're a long way away from where we need to be."
40 minutes left in this session.
