Roger Federer was also a gracious runner-up:
"I can't believe I made it to five! It wasn't looking good there for a while!
"You know going into a match with Novak that it's going to be rough, physically, because we play such athletic points. I can only say congratulations for the tournament today, it's well deserved. Well deserved."
On his twin daughters being in the box: "I don't know if they quite understand but it's nice that they came out. I've felt the love out here again. I look forward to coming back next year. Thank you guys." -
More from Novak Djokovic's interview on Centre Court:
"I want to congratulate Roger for a great match today, it was a great match to be a part of. He's a magnificent champion and a great role model. Thank you for letting me win today!
After dropping a fourth set, it wasn't easy to regroup and reset and find the energy to win the fifth set. I don't know how I did it. This is the best tournament in the world, the most valuable one. This is the first tennis match I ever saw when I was five years old, I'm so grateful for this opportunity." -

Big cheer for Novak Djokovic as he is presented to the crowd as Wimbledon champion, 2014. He's near tears - he very nearly never got back to this moment, and what might that have done to his state of mind in future grand slams? It's a non-issue now, but wow, it was close.

The standard of tennis really is top drawer. Federer hits a sixth smash winner of the match to move 30-15 ahead after another superb rally. Only for Djokovic to level it at 30-30 with an unbelievable passing shot down the line. It's like the craziest, gutsiest series of raises in poker.
